MEET YOUR
Hello, I’m Dawn
ABOUT ME
I’m Dawn- a Certified Nurse Midwife, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and a mom of four (ages 6-19). For more than a decade, I’ve sat with mothers through every season of their lives: pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and beyond.
What I’ve witnessed is this: our society does not value mothers and our healthcare system prioritizes profit before people. This leaves mothers unseen, unheard, and unsupported. Appointments are rushed, symptoms are minimized, and mothers are told to “suck it up” rather than offered real care.
I created Matricentric Health & Well Care to be different. Here, your experience as a mother isn’t an afterthought, it’s the foundation. My approach combines clinical expertise with deep respect for your story, your body, and your matrescence (the transformation of becoming and being a mother).
This is health and well care that values comfort, dignity, and truth. That means cozy exam rooms, conversations that go deeper than a checklist, and care that looks at the whole you — mind, body, and motherhood.
I believe mothers deserve more than the bare minimum. You deserve care that sees you, hears you, and puts you first.
What I believe…
I believe in the midwifery model of care ~ care that is relational, not transactional. Mothers deserve time, respect, and shared decision-making, not rushed visits and unchecked hierarchies.
I believe health is whole-person and holistic ~ tending to the mind, body, and spirit, because mothers are never just physical beings. Emotional well-being, nervous system balance, and spiritual grounding are part of true health.
I believe in matrescence ~ the transformation that happens when someone becomes and continues to be a mother. Just like adolescence, matrescence deserves to be studied, honored, and supported.
I believe in matricentric feminism ~ recognizing motherhood as a political and cultural identity that deserves value, voice, and visibility. To center mothers is to challenge the systems that dismiss and diminish them.
I believe mothers deserve care that is comforting, dignified, and liberating ~ care that does not pathologize normal transitions, but instead supports and empowers through them.
“If you want to change the world, start by supporting the mothers …
because when mothers thrive, families, communities, and entire societies thrive.”
~Dawn

Kind Words from my Clients
-
I did not plan for the postpartum period and was completely blindsided by how challenging it was. Dawn provided more education and support in just two visits than I got from the 9 months of prenatal care with my OB.

I never thought I would look forward to an annual visit, but if it is with Dawn, I defiantly do.

Worth every penny. You should probably be charging more. You are better than every doctor I have ever seen in the past and wasted time and money on.
